This is my third apartment in NYC, and this is by FAR the worst management company I have ever witnessed! I read a few reviews before we signed our lease, but I thought there was no way they could be true. Unfortunately, the reviews do not even do them justice! I am aware that there are little problems with every apartment--however, in every previous apartment I have lived in, the management took care of the problems in a timely manner. Topaz would either push us away and tell us the boss wasn't in so no decisions could be made, or just not deal with us completely. Most recently, our patio overflowed and ruined everything. The management blamed it on us, saying we should have cleaned our drains and they would not pay for the damage. What they offered, instead of paying for the cleaning of the thousands of dollars in rug damage, was $10 worth of quarters so we could take the day off from work and do laundry to try and salvage some of the clothing that was ruined.
Even if you absolutely love the apartment, do not rent from them.
