Acqua offers an escape from ""carbon copy"" Italian restaurant menus. Their Sicilian born Chef serves the most authentic Italian food around, as well as incorporate modern riffs using local fresh ingredients and Mediterranean sensibilities. I love Linguine with clams in white wine, fresh Fettuccine with cherry tomatoes and homemade mozzarella. The wine list is complete and reasonably priced. The candlelit dining room, a casual yet elegant atmosphere (btw great music) and friendly staff make your time at Acqua a wonderful experience. As an italian, born and raised in Rome, this is the only place in NYC that reminds me of my city. (Best Carbonara and Matriciana abroad).
