In my search for a new eye doc Clarus came up as a preferred provider for my insurance group.I checked in 15 minutes before my appointment, having submitted my paperwork electronically the week before the appointment. I don't think anyone looked at it because I kept getting asked if I wore contacts. The fact that I do was very clear on the forms I submitted. The waiting room was full.There was nothing to read except their brochures for laser surgery and that kind of thing. When I had been there 45 minutes I tried to find out why I had not been seen. Didn't get an answer.The receptionist just kept talking into different phones. She finally told me she was trying to find a tech. Tech? I thought I was seeing a Dr.! I've been in contacts or glasses for the past 50 years and have always had the exam conducted by a doc. Finally, after being there an hour, I had the preliminary exam. It was done by a tech-not a doc. The doc came in for a few minutes but the tech did most of the work.All in all, it was OK once I got in the room. But...not OK to the point where I would go back there. When I have my eyes examined-I want a Dr. When I go to a medical facility I want to be told they are running behind and most important of all, I want to feel like a person whose business is valued-not like an insurance claim.
