Best eye doctor 11/30/2010

One of the best eye doctors I have ever been to. I just moved to DuPont and needed an eye check. I have always had problems with my eyes being dry and red. The doctor at Clarus was able to figure out I had dry eyes due to another problem I have and was able to get me on some eye drops which work great. I feel better and my eyes don’t hurt anymore. The doctor explained everything to me and was very nice. I also got some new glasses from Clarus after my exam. The shop had a huge selection of frames and the staff was wonderful at helping me chose some new glasses. This is a great place and the new office is very nice. I absolutely recommend Clarus to anyone. more

You Have Got To Believe This Is A Scam 9/23/2010

I went to Clarus for a routine eye exam and to get glasses. Atthe time I was asked if I was interested in contacts. I told the person I have stigmatism. Mind you my eyes are dialated and I can't see very well at all during this whole thing. She says would I want to see if I could wear them? I say maybe but want glasses right now and don't know what my insurance pays. She says ""Oh, we could get you a fitting to see if you can wear them."" She says they will call me with an appointment later. I say ok we could try. She has me sign a piece of paper that i CAN NOT SEE TO READ due to dialation of the eyes. I get my eye glass prescriptipn and wait a good hour (or more) in the eye glass fitting part of the place with NO ONE asking me if I needed help. I left thinking maybe I would come back later. I never did. I did get a phone call about the appointment and I told them I was not interested in having contacts. A few months ago I get a call and a bill from the center saying I owe money for contacts I NEVER GOT and a FITTING I NEVER PARTICIPATED In. Billing says they have proof because I signed a contract. (A contract I could not see) Today i recieve a letter in the mail they are sendig me to collections if I don't pay up and I will have breached the patient doctor relationship. I called them and told them I will never pay and as far as I was concerned I would never be back there ever again and they had already breached the relationship long before now. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. How many old people have they scammed this way? How many have they ripped off? It's going to come out in the open. Word of month is the best form of advertisement. more

cattle call 6/24/2010

The place looks great, they must be good at what they do. I just needed any eye exam for a new pair of glasses. An hour wait later, they zipped through an exam (was it an exam? it was so brief). Next thing their trying to sell me hearing aids? \r \r Save your time and money. Pros: nice image Cons: you aren't treated like a human more

One caring facility 3/29/2010

First off, they are all specialist, so I understand the long waits at times. I trust my doctor and wouldn't go anywhere else.\r I hope you give it a try and find the best there is... They have saved my sight! Pros: Nice, caring great techs, doctors and coffee Cons: sometimes a long wait more

Disapointing! 11/21/2009

My son and I spent 3 1/2 hours there (tons of paperwork) only to leave with a prescription that left each of us seeing worse than with the prescriptions we came in with. Better to go with a simple eye doc who will take personal and professional interest in you than this fancy eye factory. Pros: Big, fancy facility Cons: Feels like an assemply line. Little time with a doctor. more

Disappointing Experience 7/27/2009

In my search for a new eye doc Clarus came up as a preferred provider for my insurance group.I checked in 15 minutes before my appointment, having submitted my paperwork electronically the week before the appointment. I don't think anyone looked at it because I kept getting asked if I wore contacts. The fact that I do was very clear on the forms I submitted. The waiting room was full. There was nothing to read except their brochures for laser surgery and that kind of thing. When I had been there 45 minutes I tried to find out why I had not been seen. Didn't get an answer. The receptionist just kept talking into different phones. She finally told me she was trying to find a tech. Tech? I thought I was seeing a Dr.! I've been in contacts or glasses for the past 50 years and have always had the exam conducted by a doc. Finally, after being there an hour, I had the preliminary exam. It was done by a tech-not a doc. The doc came in for a few minutes but the tech did most of the work. All in all, it was OK once I got in the room. But...not OK to the point where I would go back there. When I have my eyes examined-I want a Dr. When I go to a medical facility I want to be told they are running behind and most important of all, I want to feel like a person whose business is valued-not like an insurance claim. Cons: Long wait, nothing to read, poor customer service more

Factory Eye Exams? 2/17/2006

Impressive web site and building. When I first went to this brand-new facility, I thought I was in for the best eye exam I'd ever had. The experience was factory-like. The Rx portion of my vision exam was done by an ""Opthalmic Assistant,"" in about a third of the time my past optometrists have taken. The optometrist showed up after the prescription exam was done, I guess to check for eye disease. At my insistence, the optometrist redid the refractive exam. Lost sight of the customer, in the quest for $$$? I'm sure they'll make a lot of money, but not from me or my family. I'm used to paying an optometrist to do my eyeglass prescription. Why would I pay the same amount to have it done by someone with less experience and training? Pros: Nice, new facility., Little waiting. Cons: Factory-like service., Bedside manner., Not what I'm used to. more
