We come to the River Walk about once a year to have dinner and enjoy the scenery. Living in Texas, we have Mexican food quite often and decided to try something different. Woops...
The food was horrible. I don't normally take the time to write things like this, but it was bad enough for me to do so. We shared the pork medallions with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. It reminded me of the TV dinners I had as a kid. The vegetables had no flavor and were extremely crispy. The ""pork"" contained more gravy and huge (crispy!!!) mushrooms than actual pork. The look of the gravy/mushroom/pork mix reminded me of the vegetable stew-style dog food I serve my dogs. There was nothing Italian about this meal. When I walked inside to use the restroom, the whole restaurant had a faint ""bathroom"" smell.
Our server was friendly and helpful and everything came on time. The view was nice, overlooking the Riverwalk. If we hadn't been starving and desperate to finally sit down, we would have returned everything and complained...
