The first time I limped into Epic Bikes with a flat tire on my Target cruiser bike, I felt a little awkward, having never been in a bike store before. I was impressed by how quickly the staff greeted me and addressed my problem. In the many times I have been in Epic since, Tim and Mike, no matter how busy they may be, are always prompt to respond to every customer.
Epic always has whatever I need, or they will get it for me. Equally importantly, they ask the questions that identify what I do, and don?t, need. They offer a full range of services, from repairs and adjustments to department store and higher end bikes, as well as gear, attire and a wide selection of bicycles. As I have become a more avid cyclist, Mike and Tim have been invaluable sources of information and encouragement.
A great sense of community surrounds Epic Bikes and further enhances my cycling experience. Epic is the headquarters of Southern Crescent Cycling Club, and the store website links to the club's online forum. Epic organizes weekly rides from the shop to accommodate different levels of cyclists, sponsors other cycling events, offers classes on cycling topics, and maintains a bulletin board of local and regional events. Epic?s website provides a wealth of information about cycling technique, safety and other issues. I expect Epic will keep me equipped and connected to the cycling community for years to come.
