2008 was a lousy year. My husband of 20 years passed away suddenly, I was laid off for the first time in my 22 year career in real estate, and I was scammed out of every penny I had and didn't have. It was a tough year, but I survived and now my life has turned around for the better. To commemorate surviving 2008, as a statement about myself and to myself, I decided to get my first tattoo... even though I have a profound fear of needles.
