We have been to MeltingPot restaurants in cities other than Richmond and they have been fine. The one in Richmond suffered from what seemed to be high staff turnover and poor training. The food is good, and the wine list superb, though there is no one there when we visited who seemed to know anything about the wines on the list. Service was slow, and staff only wanted to help ""their tables"". We had to wait a long time between courses which was unusual because the cooking is done at the table. The average age of the staff (""manager"" included) seemed to be about 23. We expected much more given the price point.
Pros: wine list
Cons: slow, inexperienced service.
