I live in the neighborhood and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I've been a little confused by the different reviews I have seen on citysearch. Some describe the restaurant as the greatest wine bar on the planet and others describe Tasca as a pretty mediocre place that is somewhat overrated. My husband and I finally went there last saturday and I have come to the conclusion that the positives reviews are all probably being written by the same person. They all sound the same and they don't describe what the restaurant is actually like. Its just sort of... blah. The food wasn't anything special. The host barely recognized us when we came in, and the waiter seemed like there was some other place he'd rather be. I don't know what all the hype is about. I'm pretty disappointed... I was hoping Tasca would be better than it is.
