I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It was the dinner rush on a Sunday, and although the place was busy, the wait staff was extremely attentive and polite. For mid-town, the prices were more than reasonable. And most importantly, the food was fantastic. We weren't feeling particularly daring, so we stuck to simple dishes this time like the Chicken Parmesan, Cheese Ravioli, fried mozzarella, but the flavor and portion size was wonderful. As important were the deserts. The chocolate mousse and the tiramisu were a nice way to cap off the meal. they were very rich but not overblown. Compared to the many 'theme' restaurants up and down 57th, this is a wonderful jewel in the heart of Manhattan. The atmosphere was romantic, but not uncomfortable or 'snooty'. I cant wait to try many of the items on the menu, and there is enough variety that no can walk away unsatisfied.
