Fish was fantastic, but the place is not well-maintained or clean 12/31/2008

My husband saw this place featured on TV so he took the family there over Christmas break. I was quite surprised by how dirty it was and how poorly they maintain the restaurant. Despite this, I decided to stay for him to see if the food was worth it. Surprisingly, the smoked Mahi Mahi was absolutely amazing. I got the lunch portion, which is 3/4 of a pound, although I think they must have given me at least a pound of fish. The lunch portion does not include sides like dinner, so I didn't get the potato salad or baked beans, but I did get a quartered pickle, giant tomato slice, giant onion slice, and a couple of lemon wedges. I also used a bit of hot sauce. Along with the sliced tomato and lemon the flavor was outstanding- simply the best smoked fish I've ever eaten. For under $10 for lunch, I was quite pleased. I also saw other diners eating the smoked fish sandwiches which looked very good. \r \r We also got the fish spread with saltines, which is very similar to tuna fish, but perhaps a little better. For dessert I had an excellent slice of key lime pie! Wow, it was great. If this place could just find a newer, more modern location they would have lines out the door. The food really is that good. \r \r All of our forks came out dirty from the kitchen with food still on them, so we had to send them back, and since we sat by the kitchen I noticed how badly they need to replace the kitchen door. \r \r Would I go back? I probably would but I'm not overly impressed with the service and cleanliness. Pros: excellent smoked fish, great lunch prices, to go menu Cons: dirty, not well maintained more
