3 Years ago I purchased a complete Trane System replacement for my house and was given 1 year of free service calls which resulted in a spring and fall cleaning and checkup for both the indoor and outdoor units. The service was great, they had a check list of items to check and they sold us on having a maintenance contract for the next 2 years. This last year the maintenance was junk! The spring maintenance wasn't by the check list and was at most 20 minutes. I figured it was the Technician and let it pass. MISTAKE! The fall service took 15 minutes a nut driver and a can of spray cleaner. The Tech did not check the freon level, amperage draw, or any of the important items that were pointed out when the service plan was sold to me. I did not renew my service plan. This prompted a call from the maintenance manager Dawn who proceeded down the road of ""if the maintenance was not done the warranty would be void"" so I would have to have a Trane authorized dealer do the maintenance. No problem there are many to choose from and this may be to the down fall of T. E. Young Heating and Cooling in Chesapeake Virginia. Beware they will sell you a bill of goods. Pros: Easy appointments Cons: Terrible service, show up late no phone call. more
