We always loved Crate and Barrel and enjoyed visiting their store in Manhattan and were happy with most of the small purchases we made. That was until we decided to go for a large scale item that required delivery. We ordered the Cabria Buffet and matching Hutch Top. Both items were delivered in seperate boxes obviously. The hutch top was fine, even though there was a small defect on the corner of one of the bottom rails. The Buffet however was a different story. It was is such bad shape that we think it was just dropped off a truck somewhere. The back panel of the piece was detached from the top. The back of the top piece was severely broken in several places. All the joints on the front bottom of the piece was separated. We called and complained and they scheduled to have the broken piece picked up and the replacement delivered a week later. When re received the second delivery of the same piece we unpacked it to discover that it was also badly damaged AGAIN! Major broken pieces on the back of the unit, broken splintered sides. So we called them again and they have scheduled to have to delivered again for the 3rd time. I am expecting this 3rd delivery to be more of the same, and if it is I will be returning the complete unit which cost almost $1300. Please remember that it took 2 weeks to receive the first unit and another week in between each of the other orders. I am so disgusted with this company, and find myself still hoping for a miracle because there furniture is so beautiful. I would not recommend buying any big furniture items that requires delivery.
Pros: Beautiful furnitre pieces which are nice to look at in the store
Cons: Horrible hirrible horrible customer servie and delivery.
