if you're not familiar with the heights, you may think you're driving out to the middle of nowhere getting to this place. but once there, the effort proves well worth while because this is an authentic blues bar roadhouse. they don't serve hard liquor, but the domestic beers are very reasonable. the showes they organize show prove the owners have a lot of heart and love for the music. many of the people who go there are 'regulars' in the true sense of the word. it's not upscale, but it is authentic. the clientele may look a bit on the gruff side in a blue collar way, but they're workin' blue collar people who can relate to the pain of the blues. and, as steven stills once famously said while performing 'black queen' live as some audience members sarted to laugh out of nervousness, 'there's nothin' funny about the blues.' my only advice: at 9 the palce is usually empty. don't show up before 10 or 10:30.
