I've read the reviews about Stars & find them to be totally false so I'm writing to shed some light on the truth. My daughter has been a member of this gym for going on 3 years. I found the coaches to be very helpful & knowledgeable when it came to All-Star Cheer & tumbling. I'm amazed at what she's learned & the advanced gymnist she has become in such a short time frame & it's all because of Stars. I will admit that the owner gets a little overwhelmed at times but it's only because she cares so much for the girls. She's not only a coach but also an involved member of the booster club & manages the gym. The time commitments one review talked about are true; but you'll find the same level of commitment for any All-Star Cheer team. Stars focuses on their improvement as individual athletes as well as team members & that's why the winning falls into place...not because they are ""all about winning no matter what the price"". The competitions are usually an all day affair but you'd have that for any competition team. The only reason Stars asks everyone to stay for all the Stars' performances is to enhance that TEAM spirit. The different team levels should support & cheer each other on...that's what good sportsmanship is all about. The comment complaining about having to stay to support the other teams should think @ what kind of values they're demonstrating for the kids. Cheerleading is an expensive sport no matter what gym you're at. You will always have to pay your cheerleaders competition fees, uniform expenses, etc. For the amount of time the coaches spend with the teams (sometimes 5-6 hrs a week), the costs is definetely worth it. For example, my son is in karate. He only gets 30 mins of instruction twice a week and his fees are very close to what I'm paying for 6 hrs of instruction a week at Stars. I'd say they are very reasonable/comparable to other gyms with All-Star Cheer teams. If you're looking for the best all-around cheer experience, then look no further.
Pros: Experienced coaches, caring staff, a winning team, and everything mentioned above
Cons: Small parking lot and parent waiting area
