While in SF for business, my friend and I decided to eat at a different ethnic restaurant every evening. Kubal City was the highlight of our trip! The elegant restaurant with one corner of low tables and velvety pillows was very welcoming. The owner and his wife were gracious and informative about the food we ordered - which area of Afghanistan the dish originated, how it was prepared and what it was made from. You must try the eggplant with mint-yogurt and cucumbers - yummmmm! The custard dessert with pistachios was creamy, light and delicious (Furgee?) The food was served quickly and was one of the less expensive dinners we had while experiencing SF, which made it the best value of our trip. I am now hooked on Afghani food!
Pros: Friendly proprietors, ambiance, value
Cons: absolutely none
