I have lived in NYC for 14 years and am someone who gets spa services and manis/pedis on a regular basis. There were so many issues with this place i dont even know where start so I'll talk first about the tent. The "moroccan tent" is nothing more than a tiny area that fits 2 people for pedis - it looks nothing like the photo - it is made of crudely stapled together canvas that has moldy stains all over it . You sit on a couch that was probably cute about 10 years ago but it now stained and gross. The metal tubs that you put your feet in also look old and rusty and unsanitary. I peeked behind the moldy tent and saw piled up old dirty towels and garbage back there. They claim that the services come with unlimited wine and sangria - the sangria was nasty - undrinkable, and they had 1/2 a bottle of white wine to offer us, that had fruit flies in it. When we asked for more wine, it took forever and we could only have red - not so great for a party of white wine drinkers on a 90 degree day. Especially when the wine/drinks aspect was pitched to us so heavily when we booked. We were a party of 6 and they made half of us wait while the other half got done - had we known this in advance we wouldnt have gone here (or if the drinks were what we were promised, the waiting wouldnt have been so bad). The nailpolish they used on me literally rubbed off later that night which probably means it was old. Pretty annoying when I am paying $85 for a pedicure. And the whole gimmick about sticking your hands and feet in chocolate, cake, fruit etc - is SO not what they make it out to be - it's actually kind of unpleasant. It was a total waste of money, the place is gross with nasty cold old tile floors and I would never go back here and I hope i dont get a fungus. Great concept, too bad they missed the boat on exectuting it. And the owner and spa coordinators are very nice and sweet but totally scatterbrained.
Pros: Concept
Cons: Grossly overpriced for what you get, lacking in cleanliness and services subpar
