It's really true! Emerald is one of the few unoffensive 'neighborhood places' left in Soho or the West Village. It's a place you can go to with your friends or colleagues to drink, have a burger (or a veggie burger) and also have the bar tenders call you by your first name. Just because it's ""unhip,"" as the citysearch review says, that doesn't mean it isn't classy and comfy. It's also never hooliganish (like so many bars in the village have become). Open a tab at 7pm and play with the jukebox till 1am, you won't be disappointed!
