Fall from Grace 5/5/2008

I've been a fan of the Emerald Pub burgers since 2001, and have been a fairly regular customer until May 2, 2008. Our last visit was such an utter disappointment, I have vowed never to return. more

This is a good spot.The staff is pretty cool,the patrons are there to have fun and the music is varied.The bartenders will buy back if you are cool with them.Its nothing fancy,but that's probably why it remains cool. more

Came across Emerald Pub by accident, but a great accident it was. We were supposed to have a party next door at Anchor Bar, but they ended up being very unaccommodating, so we moved our party of 50+ people over next door to Emerald Pub. Bartenders and staff were friendly and they played good music - all you really need to start the night off right. Despite lacking air conditioning, we just hung around outside for a breather and everyone had a great night. Pros: Friendly, casual, fun more

My no. 1 Pub!!! 9/22/2007

When I first came to this place, all I can say is I fell in love. The drinks are great and the food is damn good. All I have to say is No. 1. The Owner is awesome. The bar staff are just to great for words. I can come here at anytime and I know what to expect. The atmosphere is friendly as hell. Best Bar in Soho 6/24/2007

It's really true! Emerald is one of the few unoffensive 'neighborhood places' left in Soho or the West Village. It's a place you can go to with your friends or colleagues to drink, have a burger (or a veggie burger) and also have the bar tenders call you by your first name. Just because it's ""unhip,"" as the citysearch review says, that doesn't mean it isn't classy and comfy. It's also never hooliganish (like so many bars in the village have become). Open a tab at 7pm and play with the jukebox till 1am, you won't be disappointed! Pros: Great bartenders! Great Jukebox! Great Happy Hour! Cons: Kitchen isn't always open more

Great Happy Hour 3/21/2006

I started working with a new company down on Hudson and Canal and for the last 6 months i have been frequenting this bar on Spring for happy hour. All drinks are 1/2 price from 5pm to 8pm everyday. Nowhere in Soho makes more of an effort for happy hour! Although the outside is neglected and might keep you away, the quality and Good service will keep anybody who enters coming back for more. Wont be let down. 3/7/2006

A few weeks ago I went to the ""trendy lounge"" sway on spring street. After the bouncer rudely dismissed us after standing on line for 30 minutes, we went over to the Emerald Bar across the street. We were actually greeted by a cool bouncer outside the door who checked our ID and told us to go further back in the bar avoid the crowd to get quicker service!! The bartenders were hot and friendly, not your typical manhattan snobs. Bartenders who say ""thank you"" how rare in manhattan. The music was great and we ended up staying there for the night. We've been frequenting the bar ever since and is one of our regular weekend hang outs. more

Best music in nyc 3/7/2006

Me and a bunch of the guys moved to NYC a few months ago from Chicago. We stumbled on this bar called the emerald pub on our way to another club across the st. I have to say i was a little knocked back as the place was kicking when we went in and in the end we decided to stay cos the music was the best i've heard since we came to the city. Not only that, but the bartenders were stunning and showed none of the nyc attitude i'm so tired of seeing. I'm glad to see places like this are still around! we stopped in for a quiet drink and witnessed many being made to feel uncomfortable by rude bar staff. It was a real letdown - especially because the atmosphere and location are otherwise really cool more

Hmm.. Little old for me 1/21/2003

I went there last week for a drink alone before the weekend. Clean enough place and the lighting's fine but the crowd was a little old for 25 year old me. Have nothing bad to say about it, just not my thing. more

The place to be. 1/15/2003

We had a fantastic time at the Emerald. The wait and bar staff are extremely warm and attentive. The food was very reasonably priced and you will definitely not leave hungry. For a pub the food was exceptional. The drinks are as good as any top notch lounge and at great prices. The atmosphere makes you feel at home immediately. The jukebox is really hopping and any recomendations are very welcome. Crowded or not you are guaranteed a great time. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food and drinks, Unpretentious Cons: Too cozy, Time Flies, Having to go home more
