Our group of five arrived on time and were seated promptly. That's the last time the ""on time"" could be applied. It went downhill from there. Out waitress was courteous, but completely inept - from spilling a glass of water to asking ""how was the steamed edamame ?"" (I mean, how bad could they be?). I ordered a caesar salad with ""japanese croutons"" which consisted of one triangular crispy thing standing in the middle of the salad. That was the crouton, I guess. Okay, next came the entrees - well, 3 of them, anyway. I guess 3 out of 5 isn't bad. We were then informed that the other two would be out in about 10 more minutes. And I noticed that the tempura that one of our party ordered, had been sitting on the kitchen ledge for at least 10 minutes before anything else came out. I had ordered a pan-seared salmon with sweet peas and red pepper sauce over cous-cous, but that was not what I had in front of me. It looked oddly similar to the chicken teriyaki that someone else in my party had ordered. After figuring out what had gone wrong, the waitress told me that the correct order had been placed, but that the kitchen got it wrong. So, my meal came out AFTER everyone else's. We did get complimentary desserts, though - some ice-cream dumplings known as mochi (which can be bought at Trader Joe's for a couple of bucks) with a fermented (or just plain spoiled) cherry on the dish. The people next to us had some sort of chocolate mousse which was runny and bad-tasting, according to them, so we lucked out there. Oh yes, one more thing: as we were leaving, we found out that that there were several specials that we were never told about.\r

The others in my party thought the food was good - I'd say it was decent, but the lack of management involvement and extremely poor service was enough for me to say there are plenty of other great places to go in the city without having to deal with really, really bad service.
Cons: Service, management
