I went to Panyc after hearing the rave reviews but I was a little disapppointed. The place is so small, everyone was bumping into eachother, including the stylists. The bathroom was a little hole in the wall complete with a non functioning window which was removed and propped next to the window so that the neighbors got a good view of you. There were not enough seats for people recieving treatment and so at one point, I switched off with someone then switched back again. To top this off, their water heater was small and so we had to stop in the middle of my shampoo to wait for it to heat up. 5 minutes later, I was rinsed with iced cold water.\r

All that aside, there is a very energetic aura to this place. There's friendly laughter and chit chat. Most of the clientelle seemed to be regulars, if not friends. I got a half-head of highlights done with Coleen. I am satisfied with the service but not blown away.\r

I think that the prices are ""good"" compared to upscale NYC salons, but poor considering that the place is about the size of my bedroom and doesn't have hot water. I heard some talk about them opening up in a larger location. Until then, I wouldn't go back.
Pros: no pressure to buy products, nice people
Cons: too small, no hot water
