A bunch of buffoons and my BMW 2/28/2007

It started when I called looking for a place that either sold new wheels or re-chromed my wheels for my 98' BMW 740IL. The owner, Danny, said he could take my wheels and give a new set for only $160 each wheel. It sounded too good to be true. As it turns out all he did was go through 1 800 USED RIMS which I could have done myself. The car now wobbled and shuddered when I drove it, especially at speeds over 50 mph. I brought it back and explained the problem. It took a few days before I heard anything and when I did I was told that it was the lower arm-bushings. I explained that I had those replaced by a BMW dealership less than 17k miles ago but the owner was sure this was the problem so I let him try to fix it. Another week went by when I finally heard from him (after calling numerous times) that my car was ready. The problem was still there. I explained how upset I was that I brought my car in working fine and now it was undriveable. He told me that I should have mentioned the problem wasn't there to begin with (I HAD!) because now they had to try something else. He tried ""tightening"" the steering wheel and once again, a few days later, called and said ""I think we fixed the problem, it isn't wobbling AS BAD now"". I was furious and told them that if they didn't fix the problem free of charge and in the next three days that I would take it to a dealership, send him the bill and that I was considering taking legal action. Finally he re-chromed my original wheels (after I suggested it) and the problem was fixed. I tried to get out of paying for the bushings (which he sent to a third party just like the wheels) but they refused because they would lose money and offered me a 10% discount. Rather than admitting he screwed up by not recognizing the problem he blaimed the wheel company for sending bad wheels. I considered taking them to small claims but it wasn't worth the hassle. I'm no car expert but this was one of the worst experiences with ANY business ANYWHERE! Pros: Nice but dumb. Cons: Seems to know less about cars than I do (which is sad) more
