Emily was brought to Schaffer Kennels on Friday October 5th. She was bathed just two days before, and completely combed out. She was happy, healthy and clean. I sent her with a freshly washed doggie bed and her lamb stuffed animal and a sock. \r

Emily was picked up from the kennel on Monday October 15th, only to find her wet with a strong smell of mildew, her hair fully matted, extremely lethargic and she had clearly lost weight. She was also sneezing and gagging non stop!\r
\r
I had to throw away her lamb (which was her favorite toy), due to the strong smell of mildew. Also they NEVER MENTIONED that she STOPPED EATING!\r

I gave Emily two days to recover, but she didn?t. On Wednesday October 17th I spoke with a woman who said she was the manager. After I told her how I have always had great experiences with the kennel and bragged about it to friends and family I expressed my concerns. After I told her how upset I was she went on to tell me it was written in the file that Emily was brought in a mess. She said we refused grooming when we brought her in. Which I always do because I gave her bath right before and she didn?t need it. She said Emily pooped in her area so they ?hosed her off? and moved her into a small kennel. Where she spent the rest of her time. They did not give her the bed we sent her with I know because it still smells like dryer sheets from me cleaning it. \r

My boyfriend called the kennel later that day and spoke to the same woman I had he asked for the owners name and she would not tell him. I spent quite some time that night looking on the internet for the owners name because she wouldn?t tell us. \r
\r
Because Emily?s symptoms never went away I took her to the vet to get checked out. After a thorough check they said there were no signs of physical abuse but she was very skinny. And that the gagging and sneezing was due to dirt and dust and mildew near her face. \r

Monday we are going to speak to the owner. We will keep you updated
Pros: Happy to take her in
Cons: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
