We got married here, and we love the atmosphere and the rooms at Edgefield. The hotel, restaurant, and catering staff were all wonderful. However, the events planning staff were just awful, which surprised us because we were spending thousands of dollars and had brought a lot of people to stay at the lodge (our party scheduled numerous rooms in lodge all weekend, ate in the restaurants, went to the bars and winery, bringing in quite a bit of business). Jacqueline, who was our planner, never even returned my calls. During the wedding weekend, it was impossible to get hold of anyone in charge, the ballroom was not set up for us in time, they made numerous mistakes, and they overcharged us. Then, after the wedding, they sent an evaluation form, which we took the time to fill out carefully, explaining the problems we'd identified, and thanking them for taking the time to address them. They never even responded! I still like the lodge and the food, and I appreciated how great the rest of the staff was. But I wouldn't recommend holding your special event here.
