Best

My wife and I who are both gluten intolerant were very pleased to find a gluten free bun option available at Edgefield! Good Job McMenamins! Thank YOU!

A fabulous place to visit 12/21/2005

Edgefield deserves a perfect rating. Every time I have gone there, the experience has always been wonderful. Take time to enjoy the grounds with the artwork, music, gardens, golf course and variety of brewing and cooking to observe. Buy a drink on a pleasant day, be sure to order a plastic glass and take a walk. Savor the experience. For a casual but elegant dinner try the Black Rabbit Restaurant. For pub style there are multiple locations to eat around the facility. I must say the service there in their pubs is consistent with the rest of McMenamins… a bit slow… but that would be my only compliant. If you have enough time, consider staying the night. The rooms all have their own character and even though in most of them the bathroom is down the hall, they do have private stalls complete with door locks, showers, sinks and toilets. It is all truly part of the unique experience. more

Great place to spend a weekend. 9/26/2005

Edgefield is a relaxing place to spend a weekend. The rooms and property are nice and cozy. The restaurants and pubs serve up some decent food. I highly recommend coming in the summer. There is plenty of outdoor space to kick back and relax with your significant other. Edgefield gets booked up quickly, so plan in advance. more

Nice surroundings, great prime rib! 8/26/2005

We went there for my birthday and had a great time! I had the prime rib, and it was FANTASTIC. I love the Pinot Noir, too - we bought a bottle to take home with us. It's a lot of fun to walk around the grounds after dinner - there's a tiny little building with just enough room for a bar and a fireplace, and I love looking at the murals everywhere. My parents stayed overnight once, though, and said it's just too noisy at night. more

Eat at the Power Station 8/20/2005

Of all the McMenamins properties I have visited, Edgefield is perhaps the most unique. You could turn a visit into a day trip. The gardens that surround the main building are beautiful, and worth a stroll. Once you get your appetite up, you can choose from a variety of eating and drinking places. We chose to eat outside on the patio at the Power Station. The food was basic but delicious pub fare, and although the service was on the slow side, we didn't really mind as we enjoyed the incredible atmosphere. Edgefield is not too be missed. more
