This is my first time posting on city search, but I had to write a review for one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Especially after seeing some of the poor reviews for this gem. My fiance and I live in the city, so we eat out and order in a lot?. I work in the fashion industry and he on Wall Street, and we moved here from London 7 years ago, so we do a lot of traveling?which means a lot of eating!
We have been going to Copper Chimney for months now and we never have had any complaints. The atmosphere is very hip and loungy and not at all what you expect from "Curry Hill" dining. We live in the vicinity, so to have a place we love so much in the area is a switch. The service is very attentive and actually pretty fast if that?s important to you. The house cocktails are fun and they have a decent selection of Indian beers. We can?t get enough of the Tandori Samosa's and the Aloo Gobi which is perfectly cumin scented. I have to say, I once went to the lunch buffet and I didn?t really like it. The food on the buffet was a bit bland and the variety weird? But for dinner, when you can order your own dishes?I have yet to try ANYTHING I didn?t like?
Pros: Food is great!!!!
Cons: lunch buffet
