We chose Saji-Ya to take our out of town guests to for a fun, unique dining experience. The experience was anything but that. We were seated right away when we arrived prompty for our reservation, but service just tumbled downhill from there. Our server was either brand new or the management just doesn't care about training it's staff properly, as she guessed when we had questions about the menu and we had to go out of our way to get what we needed for our table. Shouldn't the server take care of that? We were also disappointed to learn that they had run out of tai (red snapper.) How can a sushi restaurant run out of a popular fish at 8 on a Saturday? We would have ordered more sushi (even though it was very sub-par) and dessert, but all our dishes were cleared and the bill brought to the table before we were asked (or had the opportunity to ask) for anything else. We decided to spend our dessert and drink money down the road at Cafe Latte instead, which was the much better choice in the end. Through the Saji-Ya website I wrote to the management about our experience, but now it's several weeks later and I still haven't received an apology for the disappointing service. It's obvious that Saji-Ya cares nothing about restaurant hospitality and customer service.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Poor service, management apathy, mediocre food
