Went on a Friday night with my husband. As we stepped in, we were gladly impressed with the appearance of the place: looks cozy and not trying too hard to be trendy. We sat at the bar. The two bartenders/waiters were more interested in watching the dust settle than to serve us. We felt unwelcomed from the get go. The few words dispensed by the waiters had more attitude than anybody who has ever worked at Lucky Chen'g. OK, maybe that's one way to highlight that they are Italian bartenders and that we should be thankful that we are eating (for the first and last time) there. The food, however, was as 'nostrano' as Applebee's Festa Italiana. The homemade tagliatelle were by no means homemade and had the consistency of any Barilla pasta that has been cooked overnight. My fish ('orata') was floating in a warm broth that was unbearably tasteless and was served with some vegetables that must have spent the night with the tagliatelle. My husband had an OK lasagna. The crowd? A lot of out-of-towners (think Milwaukee) and Long Islanders. ""Si mangia molto meglio altrove"".
