Bad for this 28 year-old downtowner 11/22/2006

I took a chance to try a new salon in my neighborhood. I read reviews here and booked an appointment with the Frederic-Fekkai-trained David. When I got to the salon, David was ""running late"" and I took a seat and waited. 30 minutes later, I'm still waiting, and David has not appeared to even explain or apologise for my wait. Another 15 minutes pass, and I'm ready to leave. Finally, the receptionist tells me to sit in an empty station. Another 10 minutes passes, and no David. The hairdresser next to my station approaches me and says, ""Hi, I'm David....sorry about the wait"". So, I was willing to forgive and forget. I was prepared with pictures from Men's Vogue and some other tearsheets to describe the look I was going for. David went to work, and gave me a very bland short hair cut. He said...'well, that's what you wanted...nothing special"". \r This seems to be a salon that specializes in women's hair straghtening with a blowdry as that was all I saw in the salon, combined with attitude and unprofessional behaviour. No return visits for me. Not worth $75 (+$20 tip). In spite of unprofessional service, I still tip (insert pat on back here). Pros: Nice neighborhood, ample lighting, good reading material and plenty of time to read them Cons: service and skill more
