I've heard about One if by Land, Two if by Sea forever. My parents and grandparents have always raved about it. I've always considered myself more of a ""Jean George"" aficionado so I was skeptical when my boyfriend suggested going there for dinner. I have to say it was so nice to walk into such a historic New York City landmark. In this day and age when decor is either cold, minimalist or over the top mod, it was a comforting feeling to walk into a room with so much character, color and warmth. The staff could not have been friendlier or more educated on the menu. The tuna tartar with seared fois gros served over a grilled pineapple blew me away. I had an delicious halibut dish and my boyfriend had the beef wellington. The desserts were wonderful. Being an interior decorator the only thing I could suggest is new carpeting.
Pros: Great experience
