Mind-boggling policies and poor customer service. Next please? 11/7/2006

Keypoint used to be a great credit union when they were known as AEA, but over time, as they've gotten bigger, they've started to become more distant from their customers. From obtuse phone trees, long hold times, and by making it very difficult to get things basic business done (like re-ordering debit cards and checks), they've made it inconvenient to bank with them. For example, to verify identity, be prepared on the phone to give a drivers license number, the last four degits of your credit cards, the ability to verify recent transactions, and other questions in a process that takes several minutes. Done in the name of privacy protection, they say everyone's social security number, mother's maiden name and date of birth are available on Google. How's that for a scare tactic? All sounds like a mechanism to decrease phone calls, and ultimately costs. Do you want a bank that will work for you, or one only interested in getting you out of the way? Pros: Free online banking Cons: Inconvenient policies, locations and bad customer management more
