Actually, I have flown from Denver just to go out to eat in Seattle. First I flew to "The Goat" (The Stumbling Goat, that is), Craig Serbousek's first restaurant. Then, I flew to "Crow." Everything on the menu at Crow is simple, fresh and seasonal. The price is right, the scene is great and the staff is gracious and efficient. If you've had to wait at Crow in the past, it was probably because it was so damn popular! The last time I was at Crow it was crowded. I had the salmon and the mushroom risotto--with freshly picked morels and chanterelles. The salmon was grilled and glazed, and the risotto was rich and filling. It was all fantastic. Coming from a meat eater, this is high praise.
Pros: Simple, seasonal and perfectly 'limited' menu choices. The Chef's Table in the rear is cozy and fun.
Cons: The wide-open floor plan can be off-putting, but I loved the hustle, bustle and noise!
