B44 fell flat on its face New Years Eve. All SF restaurants should be embarrassed for B44. THE FOOD. B44 came close to ruining Paella for me forever. To describe the rice as deep fried salt pellets coated in oil would be kind. I stopped eating rice and went for other ingredients, I bit a mushroom that if it had been scraped off the bottom of an oven it would have tasted better. THE SERVICE, the server took 10 minutes to greet us and then said Youd better order everything at once or else it will take forever at least he was honest. When I informed the manager that the quality was poor, I was nice about it too, he did not make any attempt to apologize or redeem the restaurant. Im sure B44 has its good days, but Im not going to risk trying it again.
