When I was unable to get into Masa, I called Farallon and booked a table for one.
I had been to this great place only once before and although not my first choice,
it will be the first place I return to next time in San Francisco (even if it is just for a
layover) Wow, Everything was first rate and a great and well organized wine list
( this must be a new San Francisco trend) Their take on Seafood is inspirational
and the waitstaff was cordial and gracious. When chatting with a water, I mentioned
recent experiences in the Pacific Northwest, this got a laugh and an explanation,
it seems that Portland and Seattle waiters a famous for their rudeness and curt
behavior. Their salaries are high and people still tip generously. Go figure.
