My husband and I had dinner here last night (4/25/05) and were quite disappointed. Considering the reputation of Thomas Keller and the hype surrounding this place I don't think it's merited. Our meals were good - tried the lamb and chicken, and if we had them in one of the countless brasseries we've been to in France and paid perhaps $10/plate we would have been quite happy. They were simple, relatively one-dimensional and prepared properly (not over or underdone) but there was absolutely no creativity in the recipes. Something I might have prepared on a Wednesday night. The service was mixed, attentive at first but then we felt like we were forgotten. Way too long to have plates cleared, dessert offerred and the check presented. Considering our check was over $200 we have no desire to return. May I recommend Olives (Todd English) or Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay.)
