had a wonderful meal with friends, settling the bill was a NIGHTMARE! we left more than enough to cover the bill, but turned out the waiter divided the bill wrong (his error) and stopped us on the way out to make sure he got his tip; it took over 20 minutes to re-run our cards, and in the meantime we were stranded at the host desk looking like we couldn't pay our bill.
complaint to the manager resulted in her asking us to come back, an offer to hear our issues, and free appetizers - we went, willing to forgive and forget. the manager really didn't seem to care at all about our frustrations - we felt resentful that we had been lured back to spend more money with no satisfaction
our experience with the staff soured us all on what was truly a great meal (if a bit overpriced)
