we were asked if we had a reservation. We politely said, no . We were seated at a small spot. The bread came out stale. My hearts of palm salad was not rinsed when it came out of the can. I could taste the preservatives. The waitress was cheerful. Almost to a fault. We knew something was up. Alas, my steak came. a 38.00 steak.....BROILED. dry and unflavored with absolutely nothing. We could see that this place was overrated. Obviously living on the fame they acquired for the movie that had used it for the setting. Shallow Hal. Anyway. I was shocked. We stayed to eat because we were already in the city. We live an hour away. Maybe it was because we dared to have the nerve to not call for a reservation for two, at only 6:00 on a week night? Oh well on to another.
