Flax is a large, well-known art supply store somewhere in the neighborhood of Civic Center and Hayes Valley. They have a good selection of quality journals, sketchbooks, kid's art supplies, giftwrap, bags, etc. There is a small clearance section in a small separate room. Check out the messenger bags that are only about $16.95. The kid's section has some nice, large hardcover blank journals for just $4.95.
