I'm from the UK. The last time my girlfriend and I visited NYC was Sept 2003. When we got of the plane we were desperate for a drink - after waking around for a while we stumbled into Murphy's. We were greeted by Joe's smile and infectious banter. For the rest of our week's stay we were unable to find another bar that matched Murphy's in any department. We spent every night in Murphy's and were amazed by the Joes' knowledge of cocktails -it seems bartending in NY really is a skill (unlike the UK). We'll be back in a few weeks time and our first port of call wll be Murphy's without a doubt!! ... Cant wait.....
