If you live in San Francisco, this is probably a place to see and be seen for the ""Beautiful People"", but it certainly isn't a good choice for top line, authentic Italian cuisine. Our waitress was a rookie at using a corkscrew and almost put out my eye. The overall service/attitude was equivalent to what you'd find in a chain restaurant. The food was good but undistinctive, and just lacked an italian authenticity - we felt that our small helpings of pasta drenched in cream sauce were no better than what you'd find at Olive Garden ! We ordered grilled summer squash, and when we asked the waitress why she brought us zucchini, she claimed that zucchini was part of the squash family !
If you want to feel like you're in Italy, try Il Giglio in New York, Osteria Del Teatro in Miami Beach or Valerio's in Cleveland.
Pros: hip decor
Cons: food, service
