I think Avalon has reached critical mass in terms of its "infamous" market status in Boston and elsewhere. And due to the churn in the number of new visitors each day at the club, they could care less about frequest fliers. It's like the houseing market in Massachusetts - i.e. a sellers paradise. The bar tender was extremely snooty for some reason. The drinks are by far the most expensive on Landsdowne Street and the music seldom good enough to dance to. More of a place for first-timers to visit and leave. Would not recomend it to someone unless some famous DJ swings by. Times have changed and there are tons of other places that one could have a good night out.
