Established in 1911, this is most likely Seattle's best kept secret for traditional Japanese cuisine. Maneki features a variety of local favorites (unagi rolls, salmon skin, etc.) to lesser known dishes such as ankimo, a tasty dish of monkfish liver in sunomono, garnished with shaved daikon. Maneki is also one of Seattle's few places serving fresh sashimi- trust me when I say uni (sea urchin) can only be enjoyed at the very FRESHEST and Maneki has never let me down.
Pros: The food is worth it.
Cons: street parking
