I have eaten here twice now. I was willing to ignore my first bad experience given the overwhelming reviews this place constantly keeps receiving. My second experience was no different. The food is OK, but in no way a top 10 Houston restaurant. The menu and combinations are promising, but the delivery is quite disappointing. Service is not attentive and slow. If anyone who loves Las Alamedas wants to experience great interior Mexican, they must make time to visit Fonda San Miguel in Austin, where nationally renowned dishes live up to the hype. Unfortunately, Las Alamedas in my mind is just hype. My only guess as to its popularity after eating here twice now, is that the ambiance and ""being seen"" here deceives people into thinking the food is better than it really is.
Pros: Ambiance
Cons: Service, Food
