From the outside (garish pink stucco bldg), one would think that this is some cheesy place where Mexican teens celebrate "quinceaneras" or the like. However, one would be quite wrong to pass this place by! The inside is very tasteful and atmospheric. It always reminds me of being in an elegant resort somewhere in the Mexican jungle since the back windows look out onto the jungly bayou, list up with green spotlights.
The bar area is very charming with soaring ceilings and I love their great margaritas and the wonderful warm red salsa! The food is uniformly good too - do try the ceviche. Las Alamedas is a great place to bring out of town visitors - especially those who have not been to Mexico before- or who maybe want to escape there for an hour or two
