My first introduction to REAL Italian food was with the Carbone Family 25 years ago. The homemade pizza dough, daily baked bread and fresh sauces cannot be topped. I have eaten gallons of their marinara sauce which goes well with the pasta, but totally completes the fried eggplant. When I lived in Raleigh I use to order a bowl of the sauce with bread and used that as the beginning to a meal. I've taken some Italian out of town friends there and they were floored with the veal and antipasto.
Pros: good parking, reasonably priced, authentic Italian
