My first experience at the Crobar was the Sven Vath/ Richie Hatwin event put on by Pure. The club has a LOT of atmosphere, it is very dark, almost cavernous like some kind of industrial space. It reminded me of an old-school warehouse party, though of course with two fully-stocked bars. Basically, if you enjoyed going to raves ever you will probably dig this space. The only drawbacks are that the dancefloor was over-crowded and that the sound system was not quite as bassy as others in Chicago. Needless to say, Sven and Richie were slamming and to those who GET IT these kinds of events are worth every penny. PURE just simply brings in the best talent, and if you actually know anything about dance music/club culture beyond "hey man this place has hot chicks with big hair" then I'm sure you'll just love Crobar.
