We happened upon Putney Mountain Winery / Scott Farm while driving along small country roads -- we saw signs for ""Wine Tasting Today"". It turns out Scott Farm is the filming location for ""The Cider House Rules"", and the view of Mount Manodnock is beautiful. We were able to pick a couple of bags of Empire Apples, and the wine tasting was fun. These are apple wines, mostly sparkling. Zeke and Diana are exceptionally friendly people, and it was lovely to meet them. They're clearly proud of the winery, the orchard, the view, their more-than-organic farming techniques ... if you're interested in places off the beaten path, this is a nice stop.
