Where do I start to describe how horrible our local Toys R Us store is? I have had nothing but trouble with this store over the years. First off, every single time that I have gone to purchase a large item (usually a baby item like a highchair, stroller, etc) and I take the ticket to the front, the people in the back can never find the item and say that it shows they have several in stock but they just can't find them in the back.
The customer service is terrible at this store. The employees just do not care whether the customer is satisfied or not. My most recent negative experience was when my son received a toy as a gift and it was defective. I took the item back and told them that I would like to exchange the toy for one that worked - I didn't want a refund, just a working toy. They said that they could not do anything without a receipt. I told them that the person who gave it to him did not have a receipt, but I just wanted to exchange it for a working item. They brought the manager over and she has a very snotty attitude an refused to do anything to help us. I told her "so, let me get this straight - Toys R Us gets to keep the money for a defective item that they sold and we have to keep a broken toy." She said that that was correct.
I even tried dealing with the customer service online and they would not budge either. They insisted that without a receipt, they could do nothing.
Even though they frequently have good prices, I will not be buying anything from Toys R Us in the future.
