The "best" southern food...I dont really think so...its adequate enough for sure. The ribs are good...not great. I have tasted better. The chicken is good and so is the mac and cheese which tastes like it was baked so I get a craving for that once and a while. Also I dont really understand the hype about the BBQ sauce...its average to me and not as flavorful as others I have tried but it sells out by the night's end.
The atmosphere is always bustling and crowded and there is always a wait to get in. The interior looks like a lodge with almost everything made from wood. The downstairs dining area has a retro feel to it while the upstairs has log trimmings in every corner.
Good to try...food is better than most places around Times Square...just not the best.
