My husband and I recently moved from Michigan to Utah. We knew moving across the country would not be cheap, so we were excited when Colonial Van Lines gave us a significantly lower estimate than any other moving company. Unfortunately, their estimate was extremely off, and we were 800 lbs over (which made them $300-$500 more expensive than other moving companies). They also took over 3 weeks to get our stuff out here (part of that was during the holiday, but then Christmas was over and they were still nowhere close). All the people we talked to/interacted with were very kind and apologetic about the delay. We were told we would be compensated for it... and then they charged us extra because our apartment wasn't close to the parking lot. So that cancelled out our compensation for the delay. Not the best experience, but all of our stuff was accounted for, so that's good.
